ICE Rescues 27, Including 10 Children, From Human-Trafficking Ring

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) rescued 27 individuals, including 10 children under the age of 12, from a human-trafficking operation in Nebraska last week. The victims were being sexually exploited and trafficked, according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
The trafficking ring, operated by illegal aliens, also involved drug trafficking and was based out of motels and eyebrow salons in the Omaha metro area. Victims were found in squalid conditions, crammed into cockroach-infested rooms with no basic sanitation or safety.
DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin stated, “Our message to human traffickers is clear: We will dismantle your networks, and you will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
Five illegal aliens charged in the operation remain in custody pending judicial proceedings and removal. ICE has placed immigration detainers on all five to prevent their release back into the community after completing federal criminal charges.
Law enforcement seized over $565,000 in cash and illicit drugs during the operation. Additionally, ICE took 14 other illegal immigrants into custody, including Guillermo Infante Arevalo, who has a history of child endangerment, drug possession, and illegal reentry.
The operation underscores the Trump administration’s commitment to combating human trafficking and enforcing immigration laws to protect vulnerable populations.
